Would a psychologist be right for me?!

Question: Would a psychologist be right for me?
In the last couple of days I've just been feeling down and getting upset over the silliest things. Yesterday I watched my boyfriend at the gym - everything went well - but when we went to his I just can't explain it .. it just went down hill for me. I don't feel as loved anymore and he admits he hasn't been himself lately but he's fine. It's like I was looking for something of mine in his wardrobe (he was downstairs) and I texted him saying I can't find it, I eventually found it and he came upstairs and said "obviously it is in there" and went down again and I just started crying! We talked most of the night and settled down again. He's gone to his dads today and I just couldn't stop crying I just feel constantly depressed and the silliest things triggers it off and I just need help getting it sorted but I don't know how.

Well first of all...what you describe anyone in a relationship has felt. That sort of desperate feeling as if you can't be happy unless everything with your significant other is perfect and you find yourself relying on what he does or doesn't do on whether you can be happy or not. Technical terms would be co-dependency... You don't give yourself enough credit and place way to much responsibility on him to keep you on an even keel.

Doubt you need to pay a psychologist...but certainly look into talking to a counselor. Much more reasonable...many take insurance if you have it...but some take cash, or a sliding fee if you don't have alot of money. I know when I went thru my divorce many yrs ago...I was a wreck...I ended up seeing a counselor for about 6 months off an on..and we mainly focused on my self esteem. What a difference.

Realizing you probably have other people in your life who love you..family, friends...shows you, you are love-able...and then recognizing that you need to love yourself as well. Sorting that out when younger is a huge bonus...I hope you will get some answers. Also there are many books on the subject as well....and last but not least..hormones can also make you more sensitive...so I'm sure that's adding to it all as well. Start doing some little things for you...or that you like to do...and find someone to talk to.

Sure. Never hurts to see a psychologist. But I would go to my general doctor first and tell them and they could maybe check out your hormones first? Then if everything is ok there go see a therapist. They help a Lot. Good luck
