Could I have a slight case of autism?!

Question: Could I have a slight case of autism?
I'm 14 (have CF if that makes a difference or not) and I've always know that I'm... different. I'm not really like most people, and can sometimes have a hard time communicating normally. I was watching Temple Grandin (the movie) and asks my mom if there was such thing as a slight case of autism and she said "Yeah, you have it." and I said "What?" and she said "Just kidding." but I don't know if she was actually kidding or not. I've always been paranoid about this kinda thing, whether there's something wrong with me or not and if there's some reason my parents aren't telling me. Could she have been starting to tell me something but then because of my facial expression and the way I said "what" changed her mind? Serious answers only please. I'm really scared about this. If not autism, I think there is something wrong with me.

Temple Grandin was a high functioning Autistic person. She has written a book, published quite a while ago. Read her book with the story of her life. She liked to be in tight places. Often medical students read of a disease and imagine they have it. If you had such characteristics as do people diagnosed with the Autistic Spectrum of symptoms, you would know it by now. The fact that you can communicate and write this out proves you do not have this syndrome. Your mother was teasing you. Also, words are very powerful. Improved communication comes with more education. As you advance in your studies and become a more polished communicator in oral speech and written works, you will change your mind and gain confidence. Until then, try not to look for problems. I have worked with individuals with this diagnosis, and you don't fit the profile. When you are a little older, you might qualify for such work, and you will see for yourself.

Quit worrying about what could be wrong with you. From one of those new-age hippie perspectives, nothing is really wrong with you. You're comparing yourself to those around you and decided that you're not like them. Isn't individualism better? Would it not be wise to stand aside from the norm? Imagine this: if the norm is all standing in front of a firing squad, where would you want to stand?

I don't think that you can have a slight case of autism.
I doubt you have it.
