Sweetheart, I am sorry for your suffering. To change your life you need a correct diagnosis from a psychiatrist. Nobody on this site can tell you what the problem is. With professional help you will be prescribed the right safe medications that will change the rest of your life for the better. For your life to change you have to get the help that you so seriously need. You don't have to suffer and you don't deserve to. Can you talk to your mum about what you are experiencing and how serious it is. You have nothing to be ashamed of and nothing to be embarrassed about. Many of us suffer with the same symptoms but found relief with the right help. Unfortunately nothing can or will change without help. Take care of yourself, you are stronger and more courageous than you think you are.
For the above answer there is no such thing as a blood test to determine if you are Bi-Polar. You need a psychiatrist, the expert. He will take your history, your symptoms and how they are disrupting your life before he can diagnose.
You should see a doctor/GP and ask for a blood test to test whether you have bipolar if you really think you ought to, because nobody else can diagnose you except a real doctor. And with the anxiety attacks you might need to talk to the doctor about that aswell so you can get referred to a place where you can get help. You could also phone the NHS helpline FREE! on:

This may not be what you want to hear. But trying to diagnose yourself over the internet is not the best thing. People give you false information and have not the proper tools to tell you a true diagnosis. They could be right, or wrong and give you a bad idea. Hope you get better.
I have been in your spot. The best thing to do is talk to a therapist or psychiatrist/psychologist. It helped me alot o talk about it plus there are some very effective medications they can prescribe.
Best wishes
I think I have Bipolar too
Go see a profesional... seriously answers yahoo isn't going to help.... I've been there :(
better you see to your doctor, good luck..
As said, although you really don't want to seek professional help, it's probably the only effective way to help you combat this elevating behaviour. I've suffered from manic depression for 5 years and have seen numerous therapists and counsellors and, although you may find it unlikely, just having someone to talk to about it really does help. You mentioned overdosing in your question, but fail to mention anything about antidepressant medication - something that (if offered ONLY by a professional) could really be worth looking into. Although the thought of it can be daunting, it is very effective if taken sensibly and regularly. I only say this due to personal experience as i suffered from elevating moods and anxiety attacks myself before being prescribed the medication (I've been on antidepressants for 18 months now and feel like a completely different person, to say the least!). Please don't suffer in silence, hun as its just not healthy.
I also found being in a relationship really helped my condition as it gave me something positive to think about. I've become a lot more confident and settled since being in my relationship but of course, you cant expect the other person to supply your happiness and they cant expect you to be on a high 100% of the time - everyone has bad days.
Please take some of my suggestions into consideration as I really do feel they would be beneficial to you. Take care and good luck!
