Do I have a neurological disorder?!

Question: Do I have a neurological disorder?
This may be pretty gross, but as of a couple years ago, I discovered that I have a pretty strong fetish for blood. From everything to drinking it to basically bathing in it. I'm pretty freaked out that something so psychotic arouses me.

Although I doubt that I have it, Schizophrenia is basically the only thing that I'm really worried about, since it is a neurodegenerative disease, and I'm currently in school aiming for a Masters degree, which would be thrown away if I had this disorder. I do not have any of the symptoms (delusions, hallucinations, disconnect from reality) and no one in my family has it either. The disease in general just really scares me, a lot, and having this strange fetish is seriously making me question myself. I wouldn't really care if I had any other neurological disorder, as long as it is not neurodegenerative like Schizophrenia.

I'm thinking about making an appointment with a Psychologist, in hopes of determining whether or not I have a neurological disorder. Because this whole thing just really scares me. But, I was wondering if anyone here may be able to provide some insight...

Do you think I may have some sort of disorder? Or is my mind probably fine, outside of being somewhat of a wierdo?

Answers:

It sounds like you have a fetish or it could be a compulsion. It doesn't sound like anything more than
that.

I would seek professional help for this only because, it is going to interfere with future relationships and you certainly don't want this information to become common knowledge.

no but if life gives you melons you may be dyslexic
