Should i continue with Geodon?!

Question: Should i continue with Geodon?
I started taking Geodon 3 days ago. I've had nothing but negative symptoms: suicidal, irritable, anger for no reason, & sensitive to light, noise, and smell.

I was told it takes 1-2 weeks to work. Will it get better or do these symptoms mean the medication has and will not work?

If you started noticing these symptoms more after you took the first pill you needed to have called the doctor and let him know whats up. Not wait 3 days and then go on yahoo answers. What are you waiting for? To go over the edge and end up in the hospital for attempted suicide? No way. Call your doctor first thing in the morning or just show up at his office. Whenever something went wrong on my pills the doctor usually let me go wait till she was done with her patients and then would fix up my medications.

All of the mood stabilizer medication like Geodon work differently with different people. The first thing that you want to do is talk to the expert, the pharmacist who fills your prescriptions. He can tell you if this is normal and will go away or if you need to speak with your psychiatrist. With the mood stablizer you should be taking an antidepressant. There are a number of different mood stablizers that your psychiatrist can prescribe for you. Don't give up because there is a right one for you if the Geodon isn't. Please call your pharmacist right away. You need to know that you can't pay attention to negative answers or those who say that the medications aren't good for you. I have taken them for a very long time and when I found the right one it changed my life and allowed me to live happy and productive. Nobody should say that there is no benefit to taking them or that the negative out weighs the benefits. That is not true for most people. Unfortunately there are a very minor few who are not helped by mood stablizers. Take care of yourself and there is help.

My girlfriend was taking Geodon and she was tired and depressed ,she said her eyes rolled back in her head and she felt like she was dying ,I had to convince her doctors to put her on Lorazapam and Risprodol for anxiety ,and Adderall for more energy and she is doing way better. I personally feel its rat poision if it feels bad for you try to find alternative meds like I recomended or a different doc. I no its hard but its worth it.

Everything is from what I experienced from others taking these meds and all just opinion.

When I got problems like that from a med, it never got better. I think it is akathisia, although I did not pace. I had an intense internal grinding feeling that made me literally want to claw my face off or cut my chest open with a kitchen knife. I sweated this out for hours a day. Afterv 15 years of disasterous drug treatment, I gave up. Months later, I am MUCH better because the agitation is gone. I still have severe depression, though.

I have been well enough lately that I have finally patched all the holes I kicked in the walls due to psych meds. A little sanding, a coat of paint, and those sorry 15 years will be gone.

Incidentally, the weight gain and other side effects of antipsychotics will probably outweigh the benefit.
