Is it safe to mix methadone and paxil?!

I go to the methadone clinic for a past addiction and am taking 70mg of liguid methadone everyday. I also get small panic attacks more like uncontrollable anxioty once or twice a week. When I have these panic attacks I usually take 1mg of xanax or 10mg of valium to make me feel better. Recently a new patient at the clinic mixed methadone and xanax which landed her in icu with severe brain damage. We have random uas at the clinic and mine are dirty for benzos and the administrater is saying its deadly but i can not help my panic attacks issues that i have had for several years. I have an appt with my shrink in the next couple weeks to get treatment for my anxioty with something that isnt considered "dirty" in my random uas. Would a small daily dose of paxil be safe to take with methadone? I was on paxil in the past and was taking 20-40mg daily but before my addiction.
