Klonopin. How should I take it before I work?!

Question: Klonopin. How should I take it before I work?
I have been prescribed Klonopin several weeks back. So far, i haven't had any problems with it, until the other day at work. My hours changed to the afternoon shifts from 12:30 to 5:30, and I took it one time at 10am, after I had taken one before I went to bed at like 10. It says to take half tab to 1 tab every 8 hours, but I only take it twice a day. That day at work, the other day, I was really out of it, and that was the first time I had been out of it like that since I had been prescirbed about a month ago. If I just take one like in the evening or the night time, will the Klonopin last in my system through most of my workshift from 12:30 to 5:30? I'll just only take one a day instead of 2 8 hours apart. I just don't want to be drowsy or drunk acting. I've been taking them as prescribed. It's 1mg Clonzepam.

Answers:

Klonopin has a really long half life. You could look that up. So it stays in your system a long time. Personally, I can't take it during the daytime because it makes me very drowsy and sleepy. I can only take it at night. So maybe you should try just taking it at night and see if it helps you through-out the day. Also, you should call your psychiatrist and let him know what is going on and he will have his nurse call you back and tell you what to do.
