Question: Help Please, Just need some advice :D?
Basically, im 13 and i worry quiet abit. Over SUCH little things, In fact here's an example that's happened just now-
Im doing a school project at the moment and the second a thought crossed my mind.. i just switched off and started worrying?
This happens to me quiet A lot, i seem to loose hope of things after something little crosses my mind.
I Want to reach goals, for example, losing weight, get better grades etc.
I Mean, I KNOW My grades aren't bad at all, they are average ( as ive been told )
but even when i slip a little, it starts again D: i loose hope.

How can i keep positive and motivated to the things i want to achieve?

When doing things, set a target for what you want to achieve ultimately.(making sure it's realistic) Then, set smaller step-by-step targets to reach that goal. This way, once you have done one of the steps, you know you are getting closer to the end result and won't worry about not achieving it.

You could also get a little note book and whenever a worry crosses your mind, write it down. (even the smallest of worries). If you write it down, you will have settled your mind that you have made an action about it and it's 'saved for later' in the notebook. Then at the end of the day (or week) you can look back at them and cross out any which aren't a worry anymore, and any that are left, talk about them with your parents or siblings, or a good friend.

Another thing you could do, is whenever you have a worry on your mind, go for a jog or a walk around the park (or even go outside into your back-yard) -just have a little break from what you are doing at that moment and gives you time to think about the thought and decide whether it is worth worrying about or not.

I used to worry quite a lot too when I was younger, and these things helped me until I didn't need them to deal with the worries. (IMO, talking it over with someone is the most effective ;) )



Best advice i can give is to stay confident, and BEFORE SHUTTING DOWN, take a few deep breaths and assess the pros and cons of your new thought. If the new thought is bad, throw it out and dont worry about. If its good, CALMLY find a way to incorporate it into whatever you're doing. Also, if you stress over deadlines and get discouraged, micromanage your time, it should help.



You could have something to do with anxiety, but also it could just phase, you can go to a specialist and see what they have to say about it, as anxiety can trigger depression. Your only a kid though so it could be a phase, every teenager goes through phases and this could just be one of them. I'm no perfessional though so I'm not sure.

Go talk to someone like a connexions worker or pastoral support manager in your school they can help you and try to understand.
Please do talk to someone as anxiety can rapidly become much more and mimic other mental illness symptoms.
If you are extremly worried go to a doctor and explain. They may prescribe meds if it is really bad or more commonly offer you some support of other natures.

Hi(= I know exactly how you feel. Im 16 but when i see other people who are like skinny or have straight A's, i want to do that too lol. Just picture yourself being where you want to be. Try and stop worrying so much. I am a big worrier myself though. I worry about stupid things all the time! It doesn't matter if you slip a little with your grades, everyone does at times. Just stay positive in your mind, and be happy. Good luck :)



What you need to do is set small goal at first. As you make those goal you will build confidence. Also its good to worry a little about things. That means you care and want to be the best you can be.;-)

if others could do it, why wouldn't you be able to do it? you have brain, health and all that, so you CAN. Never say I can't, the start is always hard then everything becomes easier:)
