Answers:

It can make people feel better, for some its about punishing themselves for whatever they think they did/do to deserve being cut. For some it can be just feeling somthing when life is hard, others may just see/hear that other people do it when depressed and they mimik it.

On a more medical note, cutting releases endorphins in the brain.

Either way cutting is NOT a good thing and a shrink might really help you.

Well I used to cut myself and I think that part of it was the fact that by feeling the pain you know that youre still alive. Like when youre all depressed you feel like your dead on the inside, but then you feel something..... I know now that there are wayy better was with dealing with your problems, but I think that that is part of it. I hope you don't do it anymore!

i would say because they want to feel the pain. maybe the pain is kind of like a punishment if the cutter blames themself for something. maybe it reminds them that there is something worst and then when you feel the pain life doesnt seem so bad.

It varies for different people. Some like the control, some like the pain on the outside better than the inside. Some use at a form to punish themselves even.

Your body reacts to the injury by flooding your brain with pain inhibitors, making you feel good. It's also a way for them to express the pain they feel inside

You get attention and it pumps endorphins into your system. This is a reaction to the physical pain.

dont cut yourself. its all about attention
