16 and feeling depressed!?!

Question: 16 and feeling depressed!?
I'm a sophomore and my family and I recently moved three states away. We left right before Christmas and I started school about 5 weeks ago. I've been really depressed lately. I've been trying to act happy so that my parents don't worry but I just can't anymore. The last few days I've given up on trying to act happy and have been in a bad mood. I haven't been mean or nasty, just quiet and I've cried a few times. My parents are upset now. It feels like they are mad that I don't like it here in this new town. It seems like they don't think that I am trying hard enough to be happy and like it here, but I really am.
What can I do to try and make myself happy?

Change is difficult. One of the top stresses in life is moving, actually. So, talk to your parents and let them know how you're feeling about being in a new place. Even though they're not going to a new school, they have to adjust to a new town in a new place too, so they can relate to how you are feeling.

Things may seem different or harder now, but there is an adjustment period. You haven't been there long, so it will take a while to get used to.

Try to make the best out of your new town and new school. Try to get involved in a school activity and do something the locals do. I think your feelings about everything will change with time.

Many people, specially teenagers, are suffering from depression, an eating disorder, panic attacks, cutting.....ON THEIR OWN. You will be surprised at how many have not said anything to anyone for fear of being rejected, made fun of, or other people think that they are weird.

I was once one of those teenagers. I went through depression for 4 years. And I was able to overcome it. It was a really hard road....but it's possible to overcome.

After reading many questions here on Yahoo!Answers I decided I wanted to help collectively and personally to as many as those people I could. I decided to create a blog to share my experiences and trials with every teenager that I can possibly show it to. As well, all the opportunities to contact me are open.

If you or anyone you know is suffering from this and is in their teenage years...dont let them go through it alone. It's the worst situation they can be in. I was there. Send them the link to contact me or to see the blog.
