What could this possibly mean?!?!

Question: What could this possibly mean?!?
A while ago I had this dream. Really it was a nightmare. And when I say "a while", I mean over a month, and these details are still burned into my mind. This is how it went. Bear with me, it's a bit out-there...

I was in a strange restaurant. It was the size of a small theater, with it declining as such, and with the large middle section of seats, and two small sections on the sides. They were facing a big wall with an exit door, and a good number of TV's showing a football game. The place was decorated like a standard Applebee's or Chili's. In the back on the right was the kitchen/ordering counter, on the left was a small arcade(cheesy ones like in Wal-Mart or a podunk pizza place), and in the middle was a bathroom. For both genders.
I came in with my mom, step dad, and 6yr old little sister. We ordered our food and were walking to sit down in the middle section of seats. When I sat down, I realized I was alone. For the next twenty minutes I searched the entire restaurant for them but they were nowhere to be found. Finally a waittress told me to wait and they'd probably show up soon.
Somehow my real dad ended up next to me, waiting for my mom and step dad and little sister to show up. Not ten minutes later...BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…
There was a HUGE explosion of water from the bathroom behind us. It drenched everybody and they all started screaming. Four figures clunked to the wet, mushy carpet during the explosion on my dads side of the aisle.
My dad turned to me with wide eyes and yelled above the screams over and over, "FOUR dead bodies!!!"
I recognized my step dad and mom on the ground, along with an unknown person. And the last thing I saw before I woke up, was the image of my little sister, stark white skin, wet hair all in her face, and blood streaming from a bullet hole in her temple.

I woke up in a cold sweat, unable to breath like something was caught in my throat, and so scared I couldn't move, aside from shaking violently in fear, for at least five minutes. I kept hearing whispers but I couldn't move or cry out for help. Just typing this now is causing me to shudder relentlessly from the memories. I'm only fifteen. There were so many things going on in the dream I couldn't find a reasonable answer on the internet. Maybe one of you can help me? Please. I'm so scared it will happen again......

It sounds like sleep paralysis. During sleep we have what is cause REM sleep. That's when dreaming occurs. Sometimes during a particularly lucid dream we try to wake up before the REM cycle is complete. We wake up in a panic unable to move, sometimes for several minutes. Some people experience hallucinations when they are waking up, and that may be why you thought you heard whispers. Sometimes stress can bring on sleep paralysis. I've had two episodes of sleep paralysis in my life, and most people experience it at least a couple of times. One episode occurred right after my dad died. The dream you had doesn't mean anything. It's very unlikely you will have this dream again, and very unlikely you will have any more sleep paralysis for a long time. Your dream doesn't mean anything bad is going to happen. It's just the brain's weird way of dealing with things. I wouldn't worry about it.

its alright, u aint the only person ur age who has this kind of problem

Hi,

The first thing to realize is that dreams are just the brain processing all the things that you saw and did and thought during your waking day. It was only a dream. That's all that is. You probably were thinking about a restaurant you were in recently mixed with a T.V. show where there was an explosion, and thought about your Dad in there somewhere too, whether concsiously or subconsciously etc. You know that your Mom and Step dad and little sister are fine! We dream many many things a night that we never even remember but this one was a bad dream so you remember it. When we aren't used to nightmares we are shaken by them but that's all this was. It was only a dream so just forget it. It didn't mean anything at all. Remember that!

Good night and sleep tight!

Thank you for sharing this with me. It takes a strong person to share their feelings with another person. I would try to see a councelor to talk about this dream - they can help you feel better and put this dream into perspective with the real world.

Good luck-
