Did I overdose on Lexapro?!
Question: Did I overdose on Lexapro?
Answers:
So generally psych medications are titrated up so that patients can adapt to side effects. Sometimes in an inpatient setting we'll start higher for faster onset and manage the side effects accordingly. Lexapro often has pretty nasty GI side effects, so while 20 mg is not going to cause an overdose it will make you feel pretty crappy. I would go ahead and call your physician and let them know what is going on so you have re-established communication as your restart the medication. I hope you feel better soon. Be well.

Well there could be many reasons why but your tolerance for that pill went down especially not taking it for a month. Yes i would advice you to go see a doctor never take 20 mg again just start out slow. Also if you took the pill with an empty stomach always makes me throw up. Just drink some waters and go lay down. I dont think your overdosed, but close to it
I was on it for a year. I wouldn't say that you overdosed. I do think that you should have started with lower dosage. As for the vomiting, my best guess would be anxiety. Go eat something. Don't take medication on an empty stomach.
you'll be fine, no overdose! you should start low and ramp up. I got sick every day for a month on lexapro, vomiting! Then it went away.
Go to the emergency room because you are having severe side effects which could lead to more serious consequences.
It was not wise for you to take the 20 mg tablet. Lexapro is a drug (as many psychiatric drugs) which needs to be started at a lower dose and build up the dosage slowly.
Do get in touch with the doctor who prescribed this medication and let him know that you do feel that you need to get back on this medication and follow the steps which he feels are necessary in order to bring you up to a therapeutic level.
Don't waste any time. Have your parents drive you over to the emergency room and let them know how much Lexapro you have taken and how long it has been since you last took the drug at the level you have just ingested.
