I'm having horrible panic attacks today. Dizziness feels like everythings moving around me, tight throat, chest pressure. I have anxiety disorder and am freaking out. What can I do? Should I go to we?

Answers:

Well the important thing is to try to remove yourself from any stimulation that might be adding additional stress. If you have a mental health provider, contact him/her and see if they want to see you or if they want you to possibly go to a hospital or other facility. Some hospitals will administer a minor sedative, but most will not medicate for a panic attack. If you feel you can manage without medical attention, then if at all possible, try to get into bed and get somewhere with low lighting. Try to keep your eyes closed and focus intently on keeping your breathing slow and constant. Do whatever you can to relax yourself and try to ride out the anxiety. Keep telling yourself it will fade and it will get better. Repeat it out loud if you have to. Any of the above relaxation techniques should eventually help you to get through your attacks in one piece.

I have the same medical issue that you are going through at this moment. usually getting panic attacks can mean many things like if you are going through stress and other different things. Your body reacts to many things around you even if you are not aware of this reaction. Many people can get anxiety by thinking of things to much, like lets say "I have an enemy in my class and, I don't know if being in the same class with her will keep something form happening". Just worrying to much can cause your heart to beat at a fast rate, cause drowsiness, and also cause tight throat..because there are cells in your body that flows to every area and when they fear that something is wrong they are going to react to it and your whole body is going to end up in shock. Having bad panic attacks and not being able to control can lead to sizzlersif you never knew that, because your heart is beating as well as your brain and they are reacting like if you are in harms way.If , I were you I would talk to someone or a doctor and explain to them what is going on, and what issue your going through at thid point. They will give you medicine to cure it, but it might take days, or maybe even month, because everyone has a different way of curing themselves. You need to learn how to control it and just not worry of what is going to happen next. screw the world at this point, you need to take care of yourself before it goes to a horrible level which you don;t wan to be in.

hi jessica, sorry about your panic attacks, i have them also until the doctor started me on ativan..it works but there are alot of different meds out there that can be helpful to you .talk to your doctor and good luck.

Go to a clinic because panic attacks can lead to high heart rate's not being able to breath and they can put you on oxygen and stuff and try to call you down...get a friend or relative to drive you do NOT attempt to drive yourself

I have panic disorder too. I am on paxil, and it has helped me so much but it's not good for young adults, I hear. So, go to the doctor and explain everything. It's a physical disorder.
