Stress while sleeping?!

Question: Stress while sleeping?
For about a year now I have been waking up from stressful symptoms. I don't experience much stress during the day and lately my life stressors have been very little. However, almost every night I feel stressed out during sleep. Sometimes it involves dreams or fragmented dreams with stressful situations in them and sometimes the dreams aren't bad yet I'm stressed out during them. Like the dream would be about some situation that isn't normally stressful yet I feel stressed. It causes me to wake up but It doesn't go away. I just fall into another dream and am stressed again. I haven't had a good nights sleep in a long time. Does anyone know what is wrong with me???

Answers:

something in your mind is stressing. Maybe you just don't let up to the surface during the day. Try yoga, meditation or Progressive Relaxation techniques to rinse your head before you sleep. Fresh air and a slow walk can also rinse up. There is a lot of books, CDs and articles on these techniques available on the net. Some of them are quite simple.

You may also be stressed by the fact that you expect to wake up stressed. Maybe find a positive activity to do when you wake instead of nurturing your sleep preventing thoughts?

Good luck and sweet dreams

Sounds like you could be dealing with some anxiety. Im no doctor but i read alot about mental health and i go through it myself. You should speak to your physician about it and tell him/her whats going on in your life and the stress your feeling. They may refer you to a therapist just to help you get a better understanding of the underlining problem.

personal expierience dealing with anxiety and taking medicine for it
