I feel high but I'm not?!

Question: I feel high but I'm not?
Since like 3am this morning I've felt kinda high, but I've never done drugs before. It feels like a buzz, but like floating. It's a bit like I'm not even there. Things seem to be going quicker, sort of like things are passing me by.

It kept me awake until 6am and I woke up at 7, still with the same feeling. It's just got worse and worse. My chest has gotten really tight and me breathing has become erratic, everything is sort of spinning, and I feel really, really awake.

I have clinical depression, and I'm currently taking citalopram, but I haven't really felt that bad recently. Today, I haven't had any sugary foods or caffeine, in fact I've barely eaten at all. I've not been spiked, as I haven't been out of the house in days, and I've not had any alcohol.

Does anyone know what's wrong with me? Please help x

You had better mentioned how long has it been you have been taking citalopram. You may have such experiences with many similar ssri, especially with changes in the dosages. It may even be a dream or some thoughts that made you feel excited. You should calm down and wait - eat something and go out for a walk. It is not the time to worry. But of course, if this state keeps repeating, you should talk to your psychiatrist.

Calm down. :)

I've read that antidepressants can cause that especially if your body is still getting used to being on them. I dont think theres anything wrong with you its just the medication im sure but speak to your doctor about those symptoms

Maybe because you haven't eaten. Eat something and if you still feel like that, call your doctor.

Call 9-1-1! This could be life threatining it is somethime when it expands a passage to your brain to far and can cause sever damage

Sounds like a bad reaction to the drug. It could also be anxiety. I would visit the e.r. asap or call 9-1-1 quickly!
