I'm at a loss as to how that could have been worded better . . . ? o__O They're just asking a question.

Anyway, yes, I'm sure your classmate can feel pain, but I'm not sure if it registers in his brain the way it does for a healthy brain. Well, obviously it doesn't if he's not screaming or holding whatever got hit. Who knows why.

On another note, it's not like they're all damaged in the same way. Some CAN feel pain and will react to it accordingly. And some don't.

They feel pleasure and pain.

They may not be as cued in on the socially expected response. To be more clear, girls are permitted to cry and seek comfort if they fall. Boys are expected to deny pain/feelings, "rub a little dirt in it and get back out there." Someone developmentally delayed is more likely to just report the pain without concern to social cues. The head may hurt, but not so much that he can't get up and keep walking. Someone more cognizant may worry about cuts, bruises, appearance, or a concussion. It's less likely in this scenario, unless it's been stressed to the individual.

Wow, I don't think you could have worded that much worse if you tried. Have you thought of taking lessons in tact and diplomacy?

Yes, people with such difficulties feel pain. Pain from being called names and stagmatised hurts them just as much. Bear this in mind.

there is only one medical problem that would effect you in a way where you cant feel pain and it had nothing to do with a mental disabilities. so yes, dumba*s, they feel pain, but they may not react the same way. dont be an idiot.
