How to remedy sleep deprivation that's been happening for a week?!

Question: How to remedy sleep deprivation that's been happening for a week?
I recently came back from holidays from another state and before then and during that holiday I had no trouble sleeping. The last time I had insomnia was during my senior year of highschool's exams, which I was prescribed sleeping pills and was cured from insomnia. That was little over a year ago.

Now, the sleep-deprivation bug is back making me unable to sleep for days. Well, I've been taking cough medicine before bed trying to use the codeine in that to lull me to sleep but that works sometimes and sometimes not. It usually only works after I've taken it before bed and it doesnt work, and retaken it about at 5am (so i only get about 4 hours sleep).

Took half a Temaze sleeping tablet yesterday, it made me tired and I thought i was going to sleep but fear of lack of sleep or something else kept me awake. So i tried taking another half tablet at 3am, that didnt work either. Went to sleep on a diferent bed, that didn't work either.

PLEASE HELP

Thanks in advance

Your sleep deprivation can be symptoms of many other things. You could be adjusting from your vacation or have some sort of outside stress or anxiety that is keeping you awake at night. Ambien, in my opinion, is the most effective sleeping pill ever. You should set up an appointment with a psychiatrist and hopefully they can prescribe it to you. BUT be careful and make sure to quit taking it as soon as you can sleep well on your own. If you don't, you will become dependent on it and it will be really hard to sleep without it for a long time.
