what does personality disorder mean ?!

ive got a personality disorder, i myself dont full understand what it is
but what i do know is that there are many different forms of personality disorder like borderline personality disorder and narcissistic personality disorder,
if some one has a personality disorder it does not mean they have schizophrenia.
i was never a bully at school.
i do however hear voices and its made worse if i'm not on my medication
but just because someone has a personality disorder it doesnt mean they are a bully or have psychosis.

Personality disorders are long standing patterns of maladaptive behavior. Maladaptive behaviors are behaviors that inhibit a person's ability to adjust to particular situations.

These are distinct from delusional disorders such as schizophrenia. (Schizotypal Personality Disorder
is a personality disorder that is not the same as schizophrenia.)

Being combative and constantly needing to rebel agains authority figures even when it gets you arrested is maladaptive (oppositional defiant disorder). Hearing voices that tell you to fight the government agents who are trying to control your thoughts is a delusion (schizophrenia).

Schizophrenia, conduct disorder, multiple personality disorder... people that don't fit in because they have a different set of morals and beliefs (delusions). Their brains work differently from the social "norm".

it means that u don't have your own identity or u don't know what your identity is so you take on other peoples identity to try and make a personality for yourself.

technically the definition would be simply behavior outside the norm

But I think there are many types of behavior that are listed as personality disorders.

Like ummm maybe cleptomaniac, OCD stuff like that

examples are the bullies, mean people...

theyre bad... thats a personality disorder
