Do you think I need some therapy?!

Question: Do you think I need some therapy?
All my life (or at least how I want it to be) has been covered up by peer pressure. I want my life to be full of dreams and happiness. I'm turning into a teenager, but I don't want to let go of being a kid. But the other kids at school steer me in the direction I don't want to be in. I wish that I could wear a cute dress with a soft flower design (not to dressy, somewhat a spring dress) to school instead of a loose shirt with skinny jeans. I'd rather watch kid shows than Jersey Shore (please don't comment on that)! No one would take me seriously! I'm not myself, and I want to change back to who I was, I want to start from scratch. But when I try, it's like a force of habit to be what peer pressure has made me. What do you think?

Girlfriend,

That is the problem with teenagers....You want to be a grown up and a kid at the same time....There is nothing wrong with wearing a spring dress...They have some really sassy & hip/trendy ones, with being tasteful at the same time...You should try Charlotte russe or a store like that.....

You need to know people are going to talk junk for the rest of your life, NO matter what you do....So why start changing who you are now ? because people have something to say....Who will you be by the time your are in your 20's?....I dont know, because you wont even know who you are if you keep changing to fit in.....

Learn to be The Leader of the pack....Go buy your cute dress and watch some of the others follow....

Believe it or not, they are watching Shake it Up & iCarly as well....They may not be saying it, but they are.....So dont feel bad about watchng those types of shows. I watch Jersey Shore several times & it's not all that...At least Jerseylisious has some more subsatance than that....Getting drunk, fighting and having sex or hooking up....P L E A S E....You could see that in person if you went to the sketchy part of town (DONT GO, of course). I'm just saying....I watch the Disney shows with my 5 year who thinks she is a teen thats why she likes seeing them....They are TEEN shows....

God Bless You...You will find your way....Stay confident in your self.

I know how you feel. BE WHO YOU WANT TO BE. If you think that people will judge you, they are obviously not you're friends. You are wonderful becasue of the person YOU are, not the person that everyone thinks you are. Maybe therapy is not the only answer. You could try talking to friends and family, people that you love, and you feel you can be honest around. Sometimes they can be the best therapists ;)
I hope this helps :)
SMILE. You are beautiful <3

it sounds like it...

Growing up is difficult, especially when you begin to realize all of the responsibilities that come with it. At 37, I too wish I would just be a carefree kid who did not have to worry about ANYTHING other than playing all day long.
I personally think everyone would benefit from therapy once a week. I don't necessarily think you NEED therapy but I think it would benefit you as you go from a child to a young adult. Your hormones are all out of whack and this time in your life can be very stressful. Do you have an adult in your life that you trust to talk to about the way you feel? If not, contact a guidance counselor school.
I wish you the best of luck <3
