Answers:

It is a chemical imbalance in the brain that causes episodes of mania and depression. Being manic doesn't exactly mean you're happy either. These episodes last days or weeks and DO NOT switch from one second to another. There are usually periods of "normal" in between episodes. It is a disorder. You don't really "get it", it develops over time, and is pretty much in your genes. This doesn't necessarily mean that your friend will develop it, but it does raise their chances.

living with bipolar

No they do nto have "mood tantrums". They have long periods of depression and periods of elevated mood called mania. During depression they will be very tired, sad, and not able to do as much.... during mania they will be euphoric, not sleep much (like only 2 hours a night or stay up 2 or 3 nights with no sleep at all), be very sexual, spend lots of money... these mood episodes last for weeks or months. They do NOT last for minutes and change all the time like most people believe.... they last for weeks or months and normally only change 2 or 3 times a year. Yes it is a serious mental health disorder that requires medication to manage. It is NOT contagious... you can NOT catch it from someone... you are born with it.

your mood changes or changes quickly example you could be angry 1 second da next second you going to be happy

the person that has it will have Extreme mood swings or Multi personalities
