How would I go about...?!

Question: How would I go about...?
I've done a lot of research and have come to the conclusion that I am clinically depressed. Now how would I tell my mom something like that?

Answers:

Yes. Tell your mom how you feel and start going to a therapist, then a psychiatrist if necessary. I didn't tell my mom and it got so bad I started cutting. But thats a different story.

I love my therapist. She has helped me so much. I was lucky, she was the first (and last) one I'll go to, I don't want to go to anyone else.

It really helps!

Good luck.

ALSO:
She may not understand what depression is or what your saying or trying to explain. Just be patient and if there is anything on the internet to help her understand better, show her that too.

Experience.

Before concluding that you are depressed, you should definitely see your GP.
If you are over 14 , you can book an appointment and it is completely confidential.
Your doctor will ask you some questions and determine whether or not you are depressed.

If this is the case, you should ask to speak to your mom in private, and just tell her the truth. There is nothing to be worried about, she should be understanding of your problem and want to help you.

First tell her how you are feeling and that you are sick or depressed. The word sick seems to alarm moms in the head when their child is sick. Tell her in more detail how you been feeling and listen to her responses, because she's going to ask you questions. Now tell her that you want to get well and need to see a doctor and soon. If she says its probably this or that be firm, not disrespectful in tone and tell her you need get help now so things can get better for you. Then ask her if she make can make a appointment to see someone or you will get help yourself. Again emphasis that you feel depressed and want to deal with it by seeing a doctor. Maybe she will come with you. If she doesn't don't worry about it and get help yourself

Best to you.

Just tell her. There's no reason to be ashamed. Your mother will most likely understand. By informing her, you'll have support and she could probably help you by finding you a therapist to talk to. Keep in mind, many people read about mental disorders and instantly assume that they have them, but that doesn't necessarily mean they do. You have to see a professional to figure out whether or not you're actually depressed. Depression is very tough, but there are many treatments available today. Don't sit on this without trying to do something about it. Best of luck.

YOU DONT IF YOU CAN HELP IT ? YOUR MOM WOULD WANT PROPER EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT YOUR FEELINGS OF CLINICAL DEPRESSION WHY DONT YOU ASK YOUR DOCTOR FOR ADVICE JUSTIN YOU MAY WRONG AND IF YOUR NOT THEN AT LEAST YOU CAN GET PROPER TREATMENT?
