I don't want to sound all depressed or anything, but I could use some cheer!

Question: I don't want to sound all depressed or anything, but I could use some cheering up?
So i'm just a teenager, and I guess there's a lot of teenagers who are depressed and stuff, but just hear me out. Sometimes I wonder what's the point of... anything really? Unless I become some fake barbie doll and start wearing the cool clothes, I can't be liked by every one. And I guess I don't want to bel iked by everyone, when there's all of these fake b****** and such, who tease people because of the way they look or who they are. What is this world coming to if you are teased because of your induviduality? We're not robots, why should we conform if we want to be respected or liked? And then there's labels. Nerd. Geek. Just because of grades? Come on. Do these people even realize they're hurting the people they label? Emo. Goth. The list goes on and on. Why do people do this? It hurts. But they don't realize it. All they care about is perfect hair and perfect looks. But when will people see? THere is no perfect in this world. Everyone has a different idea of perfect.

Answers:

i hear your pain, as a teacher i see a lot of these feelings from my students. just be true to yourself and remember school is just a short part of your life. also celebrate your individuality, it builds character that will shape you for the rest of your life. plus you can say later in life that you were you, no matter what instead of comforming into something you are not, just to fit in. you will feel like a poser. i know there is so much pressure on students these days, but i hope this helps make you feel better.

you want a happy thought. for years i was made fun of because of my weight. now the same guy who made fun of me for all those years works for me now. lefe always gets better, not to mention i actually lost the weight so he didnt even recognize me till i had to tell him

Because they have no heart.... you should have mercy on people like that., they dont know what they are doing.. they think they are cool but they are not... they seems to be happy but deep inside they are bleeding u know what i mean..?

taking care of hair is ok .. but worrying about hair only its just not ok..

I see things haven't changed much! Kids are mean, always have been and I guess they always will be. You are right though, what is perfect to one person is terrible to the next. One thing you need to understand is that alot of these kids can only make themselves feel better by making someone else feel bad! The things about you that are different, are the things that make you special and unique. If you are strong enough to be yourself and stand your ground now as a teenager then you are going to be unstoppable as an adult. It takes courage and strength to be who you are instead of what everyone wants you to be!! If everyone looked like a barbie doll then this world would be a very boring place. Love yourself for who and what you are. Don't let anyone put you down! In a few years you won't even remember half of these kids, trust me!! It's funny, I have been out of school for a good many years and have ran into alot of the kids that used to label me and treat me bad and they are no better off than I am(and in alot of cases they are worse.) Another thing to think of is that beauty is only skin deep and in time it goes away. What you have under the surface is what really matters and it doesn't fade with age, it just gets better! :)
