What is INTP personality?!

Question: What is INTP personality?
I was tested (Jung) and apparently I have an INTP personality type, its supposed to be quite rare <1% of people tested. my friend told me that they are more prone to depression, is that true?

Answers:

Remy is right. INTP persons tend to be analytical and intellectual. I would guess that the depression correlation may have something to do with being out of touch with feelings since your thinking function is dominant.All people need a balance in life and your tendency might be to overanlalyze and ignore personal feelings and rely on logic too much. I am INFP and similar to you in three areas but value feeling more than thinking. Also about 1% of the population. I am over sensitive and unbalanced since I rely on feeling more than thinking.

Wanna trade?.....lol

INTP is one of sixteen personality types formulated by Jung and determined by the Myers-Briggs Indicator.
I = Introverted
N = Intuition
T = Thinking
P = Perceiving

I could well believe that this would be a rare type because an analytical, Thinker doesn't usually mesh with someone who is intuitive and perceptive. This is the description of the INTP personality: Seek to develop logical explanations for everything that interests them. Theoretical and abstract, interested more in ideas than in social interaction. Quiet, contained, flexible, and adaptable. Have unusual ability to focus in depth to solve problems in their area of interest. Skeptical, sometimes critical, always analytical.
