How do I get help for my mother?!

Question: How do I get help for my mother?
As a child, my mom went through a lot of abuse and trauma. She was involved in the Second Indochina War. She was one of the refugees that swam across the river to go to Thailand. Over the years, her relationship with me as well as other people and family members have been very strained. I did some research and she seems to have Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Paranoid Personality Disorder as a result from her past. I'm not a licensed psychologist or anything, but she really seems to fit into those categories. I want to get her the help she needs so that her life and relationships could improve. I want her to be healthy and happy because I love her. I just need to know how to get her the help, since I'm still a minor. I'm 15-years-old and I also live with my stepdad. Perhaps he could help me with getting her the help?

Answers:

I think it is wonderful that you wish to help your Mom, but she has to want the help, you can not force it on her. Also diagnosing through the internet is just a load of bunk, ok leave that to a professional. Yes talk to your step dad about it, and then the two of you should sit down and talk to her. She might be agreeable to talking to someone about her problems.

Go to school tell them how you're feeling, they'll probably get in touch with social services, who could also help. You could also help your mum by talking to her about it, asking if she thinks she needs help, and maybe getting her to see a counselor or get some form of treatment. Talking to your dad about it would also be a good idea :)
Hope it works out
