I'm terrible at this sort of counseling thing, I admit it. I just don't have that type of social skills. But I do spend far too much time on the internet, and have found a webpage I think would help. It's www.metanoia.org/suicide. Maybe you could try to have him read it? I hope he's okay, and remember that you can call (or have him call) a hotline, as they have people trained in this. I have no idea where you are, so I can't suggest any local ones, bu you can always search the internet. I'm sorry I can't do more for your friend.

Try to talk to him and tell him this. There are so many things in life you’re going to miss out on if you do. I totally understand, but don't. Calm down and think it through. Think about all the people you'll be hurting. Killing yourself won't do anything to help it you will miss out on life. You matter to everybody and you were put on the earth for a reason. Death is not meant for you to pick when. You have a reason to be here just like everyone else and you are very important. Talk to someone you trust.

calm him down. tell him you care about him and you need him to be strong. i can email him if you want, just post it here. i have lotsa expirience with this stuff. i have two suicidal friends and i was suicidal too before i was helped. dont worry. calm down. its going to be alright.
