manic laughing and crying.. psychotic?!

Question: Manic laughing and crying.. psychotic?
Ok basically about 2 year ago I started taking anti depressants and the first time I took them I had like a psychotic episode where I manically laughed/cried back and fourth for like an hour. We thought it was probably me just getting used to tablets. I stopped taking them a year ago. Anyway, earlier I had another laughing/crying fit. Is there something wrong with me? I've had cognitive behavioural therapy because I had depression/avoidant personality disorder/anxiety/agoraphobia and body dysmorphia apparently. But I didn't get a chance to mention the manic laughing/crying episodes. What could it be?

Answers:

Well, you're probably not psychotic... unless you're experiencing hallucinations, delusions, etc. Depression could cause it, as well as certain types of personality and mood disorders. It's even possible it's hormonal. It sounds like there's a lot going on. Are you still doing cognitive behavioral therapy? I would recommend talking to someone about this. I know medication sucks, but you may need to go back on it or keep trying until you find one that works for you.
