How much does it cost to get adderall (legitimately)?!

Question: How much does it cost to get adderall (legitimately)?
I clearly have ADD and am unable to focus when reading textbooks (especially accounting). I want to go to a doctor to see if there are any alternatives to medicine to help me concentrate, but I'll most likely end up going on adderall.

About how much would it cost to (a) see the doctor and (b) pay for my prescription? I actually know the prescription cost more or less (I'll probably just get about 15mg a day to start), but I have no idea what it costs to see the doctor. I'm a college student and would rather my parents not find out because I don't want them paying for my drugs!

Also, how do I go about setting up an appointment to meet w/a doctor about this?

Answers:

I don't think you want to try to pay for adderall without your parents if you don't have separate insurance. It gets really expensive without insurance, like $100s to fill a prescription for one months supply. If you do have insurance, it will only cost about $10 or $20 per month regardless of the dosage. I know this doesn't seem like a lot, but it really adds up. I'm also in college and on adderall and my parents kind of consider paying for my medication as part of my education. You could start by asking you health center if a psychiatrist comes to campus. If there isn't one that comes to your campus you could ask them where most students usually go, usually that is information that they are supposed to know. Hope this helps and good luck :)

I get 60 20mg pills for $30.
