How can I get rid of my social anxeity disorder?!

Question: How can I get rid of my social anxeity disorder?
I go red whenever I talk in class, I'm 16 and I've had it all my life. Please help, how can I get rid of it?

Answers:

You've got to understand it's roots - where does it come from - when did it start? Only by understanding it can you get past it. Of course - you'll also mature out of it in time very probably.

If you go to a therapist they'll suggest:
1) Medicines (Beta-blockers, SSRI's, MAOI's, Serotonin inhibitors, ectetc a whole cocktail most likely)
2) Therapy (In the CBT http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cog… or in the Psychotherapy class class http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_psy…
...

The CBT class really ignores the back stories behind the problems. They're strongly against Freudian psychoanalysis. But I think it's essential to understand where you come from. I honestly just can't rationalize the future when the past was such a mess, it's just not going to happen.

So like that one guy said, learn about your past, becuase we forget. Learn about it, and try to solve it from there. You don't HAVE to take medications, but it's recomended, and it's a struggle if you fail at CBT, it makes therapy come easier,etcetc..... Anyway You can get over it.

I'm well informed about it, but it's hard to get over I'll tell yah. :/

Try talking to a counsellor. They will help you set tasks forr yourself where you can face your anxiety little by little. You need to build up your confidence.
