My mom always sighs, or rolls her eyes, or gets mad when I tell her I am feeling!

Question: My mom always sighs, or rolls her eyes, or gets mad when I tell her I am feeling depressed?
But when I don't tell her she says I am supposed to say something. So I told her when she does that it makes me feel worse and not want to tell her. And she said "Well how do you think it makes me feel when I hear you say that? Do you think it makes me happy?"

Answers:

Sometimes I got the same reaction from my mom when I told her. I felt like she was thinking, " Oh god, here we go with this teen drama crap. Being overly dramatic" She'd just tell me everybody got sad.

Maybe you shuold ask her to sit down with you so you can tell her how that makes you feel Tell her you need her help reacting in that manner makes you feel worse.

my mom is like that too. honestly, at that age, there is no changing her. you may just have to find a more understanding and sympathetic person to express your feelings to.
i gave up on talking to my parents years and years ago.
it's sounds upsetting, but honestly- just cuz they're your parents doesn't mean they can make everything better.

I don't think she fully understands what you're feeling, dear

Please take the time to read this, it can only help:

No one wants to talk about depression since it's a big mood killer, and they think ''oh, just get over it''
Just don't say anything.

It sounds like one of you is overly histrionic (demonstrative). Increase your exercise, and your "B" vitamins.

Ask her if you talk about the source of the problem...or if you can see a therapist, someone to talk to.

I'm really sure I'm gonna die of rectal cancer. Plz hellp meee!
