How to sleep with health anxiety?!


Question: How to sleep with health anxiety?
You might call me a hypochondriac but I believe my concerns are well-founded. I'm afraid that if I fall asleep I might never wake up. I would get into detail but it's not relevant to the question, which is.. how do I sleep when I'm nervous as ****? It's like drinking an energy drink before bed.

I've been Dx'd with "pleurisy" which doesn't help (painful...).

That fear is called "somniphobia." I've dealt with it some. Things that have helped me: therapy, listening to relaxation cd's, and the anti-anxiety medication or benzodiazepines.

If you don't want to go the medicinal route, CBT (cognitive behavorial therapy) could be very helpful. You could see a therapist or buy books. I think there are books specifically addressing this fear, just do a google search.



Sleep is important. Try 2 cups of passion flower tea and anxiety is away.

You can't die from Pleurisy, so you can relax there. Drink Chamomile Tea and you will sleep peacefully for hours.
