I just called 911? Should i call back?! Help me people?!

Question: I just called 911? Should i call back?! Help me people?
I told them about my thoughts of harming myself and others. These thoughts have been with me for months now.

Answers:

You did the right thing. They will help you. Be cooperative and go with them.

Unless you were on a cellphone, no worries. They know exactly where you are and will probably have an EMT to you soon. It's their job and if you admit to self harm or wanting to harm others and then hang up, you're definitely getting a bus to your house. Bus is a term for Ambulance.

If you were on a cellphone, they may call you back. But either way, you're probably going to get the help you need/deserve. They'll send someone for you. 911 is not a hotline and they take their calls very seriously. If you wanted therapy, you'll get it. If you tell them you weren't serious or someone was pranking, they'll send a cop to question you. I am not kidding. I had a friend do this soooooo

Call back if you feel you need to. But if you actually called, help should be on the way. Otherwise, pack a tooth brush, deodorant, and any other overnight things you may need. They may want you to go to 24-48 hours of in patient therapy. Good luck!

if you are serious about harming yourself then I would definitely call back. They should really not take suicidal thoughts lightly.

I have always been told by people that the hospital will always take you in when you are serious about harming yourself

no, do not call them back. if you have been having these thoughts for awhile you are in need of them. let them take you to the hospital to talk to a hospital psychiatrist. besides it is too late now to cancel the call.

been there.
