I have also taken this particular anti-depressant. 10mg is generally the starting dose. There is no miracle cure, and they can't make you completely happy if there is something else at the root cause, but they are designed to take the edge off and help to put things into perspective a little better. Personally, I still had days when I felt rubbish, but they helped me to control my emotions better. I didnt cry at the drop of a hat anymore, and I didnt feel so frustrated and angry at the slightest thing. If you don't feel any better atall though, go back and they will probably double your dosage to 20mg. But whatever you do, don't stop taking them suddenly. The side effects are horrible if you do that! Good luck :-)

i was prescribed 20 mg. but i refused to take any of the medications cause i don't beleive in meds treating things like someone feeling down. there's ways to make yourself feel better naturally without putting toxic poison in your body.

you could up it to 20, if the side effects arent too severe now, take it just before bed, discuss with pharmacist

in general its best to find out the usual dose range via google on the net

My dose is at 40mgs. It went down to 20 when they added seroquel to it but they upped it back up to 40mg again.

im currently taking 80 mg of citalopram
