why is mania supposed to be treated and concidered a bad thing?!
Question: Why is mania supposed to be treated and concidered a bad thing?
Answers:
Because true mania isn't just feeling really happy and having a lot of energy. It can cause you to do things you later regret, spending money you don't have, running up debt, sleeping around with people you ordinarily wouldn't, all because it seems like a good idea at the time. Some people have even gotten married, and later very much regretted it, because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Mania can also make you become easily annoyed, and irritable. It caused me to sleep very little, and eat very little. Eventually your mind and your body become run down from it, and then it's not so pleasant. Mild mania might not require treatment if you recognize it, and are able to control it, but for bipolar people it can cause real harm to their life.
You can do some strange things when you're manic, a friend of mine drove 300+ miles for a bowl of soup. But you're right and some people prefer not to take medication for mania or bi polar depression
