Information on Paranoid Schizophrenia?!

Question: Information on Paranoid Schizophrenia?
I don't have it but I'm researching it for my PDHPE assignment. ^_^

Please make answers as detailed, correct and acurate as you can.

Thank You Very Much!

Answers:

Well, your assignment will be worthless if you just use what people here tell you about Paranoid Schizophrenia, since none of us make real sources.

But, to help you out, I'll link you a few reputable websites about Schizophrenia, and make sure to go to any library and check out the DSM IV-TR (This is the sole book used by medical professionals to diagnose mental illnesses. The psychologist/psychiatrist Bibles, so to say. Readily available at all libraries worth their salt)

In the DSM IV-TR Schizophrenia will be classified as a Axis I disorder, which means it is a clinical syndrome (Depression, Schizophrenia, Anxiety, etc.) and will list all the symptoms and criteria needed for correct diagnosis <--- I'll link you a quick "understand the DSM page" in case you are new to it..

Other than that, just remember that schizophrenia is NOT multiple personality disorder. The media, especially Hollywood, tend to mess this up.

Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder (involves hallucinations and delusions) and is a Axis I disorder (clinical syndrome).
Multiple Personality Disorder (Known as Dissociative Identity Disorder in the DSM-IV) is a dissociative disorder, not a psychotic disorder like Schizophrenia.

Oh, and don't skip the DSM-IV part. Seriously, absolutely no essay on mental disorders can be taken as anything more than a joke if the DSM is not used. It is THE mental disorder book.

DSM-IV help:

---> Paranoid Schizophrenia is located in the DSM-IV under code 295.30 in Axis I disorders.

Hi there,

I know you say "Information on Paranoid Schizophrenia?" and "Please make answers as detailed, correct and acurate as you can." but what exactly would you like to know?

I, myself have been diagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia and can give you any information you require but need to know WHAT info you want exactly.

May I politely suggest you add to your answer and what they call on Yahoo! Answers and "Edit" it and add the questions you'd like answering and then I will gladly change my answer and give you whatever you wish to know.

This is the best advice you're going to get at nearly 6 AM in the morning and baring in mind that by the time that people are up and about your question will have gone to the back of the queue.

Hope this helps.
