What's the point of seeing a psychiatrist if he doesn't believe your e!

Question: What's the point of seeing a psychiatrist if he doesn't believe your experiences?
Should I go to a different psychiatrist if he doesn't take me serious? What does UNDERLYING psychosis mean? I know I don't have ANY psychosis, & that's what he's trying to falsely label me as. I know what psychosis is, but I just don't know what UNDERLYING psychosis is.

I had a situation where there was a peeping tom peeping through my apt. windows with a flashlight, & the Dr. tried to ignorantly think it's all in my head. He's not around me 24/7. So, why do I have to take pills for the Dr.'s ignorant opinion?

I'm 27 & not a danger. I'm in the US. Why do some ppl say that it's against the law for me to refuse psych treatment?

Answers:

There is no point seeing a therapist you do not trust and feel completely open to. Change therapist or maybe you do not need one at all. Sound to me like you are normal with normal fear after your experience. Sounds like he tries to talk you into condition you do not have and make money of it. Get a place to live that you will feel safer, like higher ground level with small windows that are not easily accessed to.

Get a different doc.

It depends on how you told him, maybe you didn't say it clearly.
