Depression: Is it serious?!

Question: Depression: Is it serious?
Here are my symptoms:

1) I think I have a horrible life, I get teased.
2) I just want everyone to leave me alone sometimes.
3) Feel like crying alot.
4) Just don't care anymore.
5) Thoughts of how it would be like if I was dead. (Who would be sorry, ect.)

Do I have depression? I'm 12.

Answers:

Ask your parents to make an appointment with your doctor, and explain to your doctor just what you are experiencing and the extent of which you are experiencing it.

If your doctor feels that it is depression that you are suffering from and not the start of hormones (in regards to puberty), then your doctor will be able to refer you to someone who will be able to help you.

Your parents need to know what is going on so that they will be able to obtain the medical help that you need at this time. It is possible that it is just the start of puberty with the surge of hormones. It is not uncommon for symptoms like you are experiencing can present themselves and not actually be depression.

Please do not waste any time in seeking out this help.

Your 12 and you get teased...! What 12 year old doesn't, you may think your life is bad but it really isn't! My friend andy had a 2 sons one is seriously ill at the moment, his wife crashed her car and she had broken almost every major bone in her body and will never walk again and his mum just died a little while ago!! So...it's not that bad is it...!! And andy isn't feeling sorry for himself having depression or crap like that, he gets up in the morning and gets on with his life! Your only 12!! I think your exaggerating :\ one of my friends commited suicide because his girl friend died of cancer and he couldn't deal with being alone, and he was 17, everyone would be devastated if u died no matter how much you think they don't care they do! So get with it

no you dont have depression, you are 12 and your hormones are changing and at times you will feel like the world hates you as everyone gets paranoid and sad sometimes
its true that every months all of us get at least 5 symptons of depression out of about 50 that doesnt mean we have depression though
sometimes we all get down but maybe you just need to find a hobbie or something to look forward to

considering your 12, this may just be your hormones changing?

i get this a lot im 16 have had it for a long time. ive thought about this before too. slit my wrists the lot.

Deadly serious.
