Should I do these things?!

Question: Should I do these things?
To actually get over my panic attacks and anxiety, should I force myself to face my fears? Should I "man up" and be strong? Should I actually put myself in situations that I would usually freak out over and teach myself how to stay calm and how to react instead of panicking? Would this help at all?

Answers:

It would be excellent if you feel like you could but you shouldn't have to go through it alone. Talk to someone close and then write down a hierarchical chart of the situation that you would feel most anxiety in down to the situation I which you would feel only a tiny bit anxious, then work from the bottom up to the top, completing each step until you get to the situation in which you would feel most anxious and you should feel ready to overcome it. Remember to breath slowly, and use breathing techniques to help you along. This is cognitive behavioural therapy and can be done with help from a therapist but you could just try it if you feel ready. I hope you overcome your anxiety, all the best and good luck! :)

I don't know if you've ever seen that show that came on MTV or vh1 about people living with OCD. But the way they helped them get over it was by forcing them to do things that made them have compulsive thoughts and resist them. The people who stuck around got better.

i did it and it helped
