I think I have bipolar disorder?!

Question: I think I have bipolar disorder?
I've looked on WebMd.com and I think I might have bipolar disorder.
Does anyone have this and is there anything I can do or ways I can tell for sure? I don't really want to go to a psychologist or psychiatrist....

Answers:

Unfortunately, the only way to be certain is to go to a therapist to get diagnosed. If you really have bipolar disorder, you will need to take medications to keep stable. Bipolar Disorder is a very difficult illness to live with--especially for those around you. Both the extreme manic phase and the extreme depression phase can be very dangerous for you as well.

When people with bipolar disorder are in their manic (euphoric) phase they often engage in extremely erratic behaviors--like spending all of their money and running up credit card debt, having sex with random strangers, excessive drug or alcohol consumption, etc that can really harm their lives and burden those that care about them.

The depression lows can be devastating also, as they can be extreme to the point of the individual becoming suicidal.

If you think you might have this, you need to see someone. Bipolar people can seem to be doing ok for a while as the emotional switching is usually subtle, but can intensify leading to greater spikes in the length and level of euphoria followed by depression.

Study psychology.
Have a close friend with severe bipolar disorder.

everyone, and I mean everyone suffers from some degree of bipolar disorder. I recommend taking the natural approach with vitamins, minerals, eating healthily and yes even herbs" they can be powerful, just look at marijuana". I tried this and it worked really well for me but then I went back to the prescibed medications and I don't feel as good now. I now believe that how we feel and how we see the world is about 80% nutrition and exercise.

You kinda have to go to a doctor to get a Dx.

I'd say go to a psychiatrist. They can Rx you meds to keep it under control.

Or you could, you know, post a little more information up on here when asking a question.

The only way to know for sure is to be diagnosed by a psychiatrist.... period. The only treatment for Bipolar disorder is medication anyway....
