I was born 100 years too late?!

Question: I was born 100 years too late?
What's wrong with being a posh and snobby englishman. I'm a proud british royalist who seriously miss the olden day which where portrayed in mary poppins of 1910, where people spoke properly, was well behaved in public, and generally more decent than today's society. For instance I was on a bus this morning and the seats were filled with school kids and when a old woman got on none of them offered her there seat, and people also don't know how to que anymore. If only I was born 100 years earlier

Answers:

I don't think you are snobby. You have good manners and have been brought up to respect people and expect to be treated the same. I too have been brought up to have good manners, it doesn't cost anything and doesn't hurt so im polite too. I would have offered my seat to the old lady too. When I had a foster baby recently, I had to take him on the train in his pram, no one would help me get on to the train so i had to pick the pram up and haul it on, one young man moved carriages so I wouldn't ask him for help. The one person who helped me was a 70 year old man as I was getting off. Im going to generalise but it appears that if you have manners you are a dying breed.

I push a child who uses a wheelchair and only half of people will move to the side for us so we can cross our bridge into town. I have to go onto a busy road. Im now thinking of ramming them.

There isn't anything wrong with being respectful and having manners. This never goes out of fashion. If you want to be polite and correct, start by being humble. Being a rude, arrogant, snooty douche-bag has never been in style. I wasn't cool in 1910 and it isn't cool now. I think Mary Poppins would agree! So be a good example for others. Be polite but be agreeable. If someone does something you disapprove of, understand when it is your place to comment and when it isn't. Not everyone on the planet will agree with you. You will instantly be considered 100 times more polite if you just accept that people are different! Best of luck and have a nice day!

That of course assumes that you were born rich 100 years earlier. What Mary Poppins didn't show was that a majority of the population lived in grinding poverty and died young. Now get back up that chimney before you catch diphtheria.

If you're so worried about the old woman, why didn't you get your posh **** off your seat and let her sit down then? You'd give the kids an example, and wouldn't have to ask this question because they would start being polite themselves.

I sometimes think that, but then I realize that I'd have to live through the Great Depression, two World Wars and the threat of Nuclear War and decide that I'm perfectly fine with being born the day I was.

Get a life, no one likes a snob who looks down on people and thinks they're so much better cuz they're a posh git. Don't like today's society? Go out and do something about it rather than sitting on here moaning about it ffs.

I am afraid there where lots of down sides to being born 100 years ago as well. Most of the population was uneducated and poor and died young, often of diseases we can cure in a few hours these days.

GP for more years than I care to remember

I saw the same thing happen -- it's some goofy law about child safety if the public bus is being used as a schoolbus, all the kids have to have seats.

i was supposed to be born a long long time ago on a galaxy far far away.............

It's good that you weren't born 100 years earlier. our world today needs more people like you :)
