Brain shocks when changing antidepressants?!

Question: Brain shocks when changing antidepressants?
I have recently switched from 200mg Sertraline (Zoloft) to 20mg Fluoxetine (Prozac) and have been experiencing some rather nasty "brain shocks". I've had a look online and it seems that this is usually a symptom of SSRI discontinuation syndrome...surely if I am still on an SSRI, I should not be experiencing withdrawal symptoms? Has anyone else been through this, or have an explanation for this? I would ask my psychiatrist but he is notoriously hard to get hold of and I don't have another appointment for almost 2 months!

Answers:

Brain zaps are perfectly normal when switching meds... give it a week or so to go away then if you are still having them talk to your doctor.
