20 years old, feel life is too hard.?!

Question: 20 years old, feel life is too hard.?
20 years old, feel life is too hard. Im currently unemployed, have little to no qualifications. I live with my brother as i cannot afford a flatshare or rent a room anywhere. I feel ugly and skinny. I havent had a girlfriend in a LONG time. My social life has slowly faded away. There are personal achievements a male my age should have achieved by now, im sure. But i embarresenly havent. I just feel fed up and stuck, with no way out. Any advice or reply would be apprciated. Why is it all so hard? ;'(

Answers:

It's life mate, sorry. It is tough, especially now in the current economic climate.

But don't feel that you are "behind" achievements, that isn't an issue. The important thing to focus on is getting a job, any job (good for the CV), and working on qualifications if that is what you want, with the aim of getting your own place (again, assuming that is what you want).

Consider volunteering. There are volunteer positions you can go for, often with food and accommodation included, so you get experience, something on your CV, and life experiences, all for free. And if you find that you enjoy it and work hard at it there's always the possibility of making a career out of it. http://www.environmentjob.co.uk is a good place to start but I'm sure there are many volunteer websites out there.

Sometimes life is just hard and things that go wrong follow one another making you feel like it's a stinky joke. It might be a cliche but you are really so young, you will be surprised to see how things change in a good way many times. Don't be so hard on yourself.Just because you are unemployed doesn't mean you have no qualifications but it might mean you have qualifications that you haven't discovered yet. Going through tough stages is a proof of how strong you are. The best thing you can do is thank that you have a roof above your head, a brother living with you which is a sign you are not lonely and can share anything as much as you want to, and that you are healthy. Other than that all of us are wondering about how to get over or solve some situation.Be stubborn against life and show who you are we only have one life that we know of:)

I'm turning 20 next month. And I can totally relate to your situation, no job because of no experience, not in college because I can't afford books nor do I have a car to travel back & forth. I have a boyfriend, but relationships aren't everything. && my friends are too busy for me.
It's called depression and being sick of everything because it's the same old stuff. But you have to just think positive. Do some deep thinking and think about the good things in life. And also, depend on God and put it all in his hands. Things will get better if you just do what I told you. Sometimes I forget to do those things, but I know in the back of my mind...things will get better. Life's not easy but it's not so bad either.

Life is hard...it's not easy for anyone. You are going through a tough stage. Try to meet more friends and go out more often. When you go to a restaurant try to be a little flirty with the waitress, that could lead to a friendship and go on from there. Just live life, don't hold back!
best of luck!

Make an actual effort to do those things, and they will happen. Plan social things with your friends, work hard to try and find a job everyday until you get one. Just making an effort will turn things around.

You're going through what probably is the worst time in your life. You need to start thinking positively. Stop being sad about life. If you want something to happen you have to go out and get it.

I think there will always be someone out there who has done better than us,no matter what is is. Try not comparing yourself to much to other people.
