Question: How do I stop my depression in the morning and night?
Some reason I cannot figure out I am depressed in the morning and the late evening and not the post-morning to Pre-late-evening. depression basically 8 am to noon. and 6 pm till I fall asleep and wake up. the Between time of like noon to 6 pm I am energized and not have feelings of depression at all. How can I improve my depression problems and not have them at all since I am getting so Angry about it!

It's called diurnal variation. I wake up with really bad depression every morning, suicidal in fact, then by noon it is quite a bit better, but I am still depressed. in the evening, when i get tired, I get depressed again. Using a SAD light in the AM might help with that part - it helps me as long as i am under the light, but not for the rest of the day. But others have more success than me. Also, you can try a dawn simulator. you can get one at amazon. I just had my husband turn on the lamp when he gets up, and that works. He isn't depressed in the morning and gets up before I do. Now that that days are a little longer, I am recovering a bit earlier in the day.

I dunno what the deal is - it's like sleeping just keeps re-setting my depression. I wish it would stop. It sucks going to bed at night, and knowing the next morning will be holy hell again. from the googling I did, I found that this is common, but nobody knows why. It's also known that sleep deprivation will relieve depression until you catch up on your sleep. some researchers think depression is primarily a sleep disorder, and the mood problems are a symptom.



I had this too. But yours more like a depression at a certain time. My depression will strike at any time. I will feel moody and not in the mood to talk to anyone when i had this mood swings. For some unknown reasons, i will feel nervous and always on the edge.

Try starting your day out on a positive note, with up beat music, nothing heavy metal or lonely country music. I suggest Contempary Christian, also try starting your day by reading a devotional or the Bible.

God will be near you and help you. Try to stay focused all day on postive things and positive friends. Maybe its who you are hanging out with during these times or your job....Try to keep your mind occupied and find a hobby.
