My Mind is in a bad place- Are there any remedies for self- doubt, no confidence!

Question: My Mind is in a bad place- Are there any remedies for self- doubt, no confidence, I am very afraid.?
where to start. I think these negative thoughts started this weekend: My boss told me she would retire in 2 years. I had no reaction--cool I have 2 years. Now I was looking on line at career builder and I see failure with any job I would try. I'm scared to death!
Also I am completely jealous of every single woman my husband works with or knows. He seems to only be interested in the single ones. He does not cheat. I am raging inside for him liking them so much.
I seem to be falling apart emotionally. I'm 45 and have a creepy fear of having children so I have never had one. I don't want a child. To me it feels like a great risk to do so.
My sister who is my boss ( the person who is retiring in 2 years) wants to start a business on line and put up the money. I don't want to do it because I see failure in my future and dont want to lose then owe her the money!
My brother and mom died this past summer- They were estranged to me because when I was born I was given up for adoption. I only felt slightly severe remorse because I did not know them. But I tell you the anger in me is killing me.
There is a support group here in Cape Coral for people who have lost a loved one. I was thinking I could start there. But in many ways my personality and self loathing cant change. Today is a bad day. I work alone and am happy for that. I spend alot of time alone My personality is Avoidant.
Are there natural mood enhancers that really work? I feel like sticking a fork in my arm so my emotions will stop!

Answers:

You sound freaked out at the moment, like a panic attack resulting from stress. You've obviously been through a lot lately and have some potential issues with your husband's fidelity. Pills aren't the answer.
If you want to build self confidence you need to improve the way you feel about yourself and how you believe you are viewed by others. Confidence comes from within, which means it is only something you can achieve on your own. Others may have an affect on you, but ultimately you are the one who controls how confident you feel.

Therefore, it is up to you to improve your self image. The following are five ways you can help build self confidence:

1. Clean up your image - Good grooming habits and appropriate dressing makes a huge difference in the way you look, act and feel and it also has a huge impact on how others perceive you.

2. Walk with your head held high - You can build self confidence by standing up straight, holding your head up and taking confident steps when walking. When you are slouched, head down and shoulders slumped you look exhausted and defeated.

3. Compliment and think well of others - When you speak or think badly of people or gossip you are letting negativity rule your thoughts. Say kind words, remember what you like about someone, recognize they are not perfect and forgive them their faults.

4. Stand out from the crowd - Don't sit in the corner or in the back of the room where you can fade away and no one will see you. Sit up front and center and don't be afraid to make your voice heard.

5. Set goals and meet them - When you give yourself a project and complete it, you feel good about yourself. Goals setting and the fulfillment of achieving your goals will help you grow in positive ways and success improves self esteem.

Lastly, don't forget that one of the best ways to really build self confidence is to help others whenever you can. Supporting other people will make you feel good.

This person believes they can sort out any issue or frustration connected with confidence. It's worth a look.

Try volunteering at a homeless shelter.

hi. I think the best thing you should do at this moment is find someone who you could talk to about these concerns. I know it won't take all your problems away but it would definitely relieve you somehow.

Secondly, think of some of your comfort foods if you are looking for a natural mood enhancers, like chocolates, a steak, it depends on your cravings... It works for me on those times when I am very emotionally stressed...
