Question: I can't get over my low-self-esteem and depression, left over from school years peer abuse and bullying?
Im 24 help me...

school years is since elemantary to high school...

"Forgive, don't forget". I don't think it is about forgetting the experience, but forgiving those who may have hurt you. At that age, especially with many of the children in public schools going through emotional problems at home, many children do not know how to interact socially in an acceptable way. Their frustration led them to their bullying acts.

Another helpful exercise is reminding yourself of your inner strength and conviction. Leave reminders around your house that give you reason to believe in this strength. Think of examples in your life where your self esteem has helped you succeed and make that your identity. It may require starting small, working towards the bigger things.

I also agree with blondie, eat real foods, like whole fruits and vegetables, stay away from processed foods, it adds to depression. Also spend a couple days each week exercising.



Hey, im younger than you but i often worry about this... People can be jerks but what i do to feel better is focus on the times when im not bothered by it. Ive learned that when i eat healthier like fruits and such and when i work out i reach a sense of euphoria. Which just means a happy high feeling. People say that "comfort" food is like donuts or cake when really if you just eat healthy you feel so much better. When people bully me at school i just think like, "okay fine, whatever. If they dont like me than thats their loss." typically im a quiet girl but people cant just respect that, that is just the way i am. You dont have to change yourself so people like you. Just forget about the bad and focus on things that make you happy.
