What is causing my brains zaps?!

Question: What is causing my brains zaps?
It started almost a year ago only when I was extremely tired, I got sleep and I was fine. Recently, I began to get them again. Its like an electric shock in my head. It happens mostly when I am sitting or laying down and sometimes quick sounds from background noise can initiate one. I am not on and have never been on any medications and my MRI has been normal. I do experience frequent headaches, but have had them for a while now. I have been getting the zaps everyday for three weeks now. I also occasionally get the feeling that my brain is vibrating or shivering, only when I am trying to sleep and it will stop if I sit up but will occur again when I lay back down.

You should go to your doctor and get a referral to a good neurologist. It doesn't sound like a mental issue.

It is not necessarily from stress at all. I have had exactly what you are describing at least 3 times now and every time it's been due to a trapped nerve in my neck. My doc prescribed a muscle relaxer and within a few days the shocks went.

Also, it's easy to say accept them but they're actually quite painful and over the course of several days will begin to seriously frustrate you.

Personal experience

if not from meds its from stress, can be like little electric shocks
they do no harm so dont fear them

reduce your stress with exercise, gym, swimming, massage, jacuzzi, hot tub

also breathe deep and slow whaile relaxing and tensing the muscles

accept the zaps for now they are OK and will do no damage
