How to stop self harming?!

Question: How to stop self harming?
I have been cutting for about two years now for reasons that I don't want to share. I really want to stop. It use go be my way of coping but now it's like an addiction, I feel like I can't function in everyday life without it. It's ruining my life. I don't want my parents or my family to know. My best friend knows but that's all.

So does anyone have any advice on how I can stop without anyone else finding out?

Xx

when you get the urge, grab some ice cubes, and hold them in your hand, the pain is close to the same, put no scars, and no blood.

So you know why you cut? One hundred percent? If you do, then you need to change your life so that isn't a problem for you anymore. The urges will still be with you though, so you need to find other coping mechanisms. You need to tell someone because seeing a professional is highly effective for finding out ways to stop. You could snap a rubber band or hold onto ice.

What i ahve found is when i want to my old scar hurts. It maybe in my head but it works for me (plus my 2 children)

What also i have found helpful through my horrors in life (bad ones) i wrote letters to ppl who hurt or upset me or just wrote down how and why i was feeling like i was and then you either rip it up or burn it and let the bad energy go from you x

depression is a hard thing to deal with and when i am in my dark place i have to make myself think of how my family would feel if they found out and it makes me see that i am loved and needed x

self harmer

You'll stop because it's ruining your life - see,

i.e. Anything you're deliberately doing this lifetime should make you go >>>>> :)

Take a look at this image,

You cannot push it further than that without killing yourself - so, now you've seen it, stop it.

EDIT:
I have one visible self-harm scar from about twenty years ago - not a habit or ritualistic thing for me, you'd do well to keep it down the same - as for telling people, I did it publicly - not telling them, I mean the cut. I might not relate this matter properly to you or you to me, maybe it's different for everyone, but my advice is simply to appreciate every sharp edge is also dirty - definitely not designed for self-harm, every cut will require care & cleansing, it is at the expense of your immune system, so you're always off peak during healing.
- There's typically no legal use of a blade on living tissue outside operating theatres other than in an abbatoir...

Im not sure what self harming is like but I sure do know what addiction is like , I starve for perfection and puke to fix my mistakes, it makes me feel like i finally have something control in my life. I was lucky stronge enough to start to overcome these things by myself , everyday is a struggle , Im not saying ur not stronge enough but if you need that extra push try talking to someone at school , its hard , once your on this path , and its a everyday thing its hard , but try to hide all the things you cut with and start writing in a journal , just write your heart out , it helps a bit
good luck , I wish u the best

Well you should surround yourself with people so that you are not alone which can cause temptations
You should not keep sharps object around you
Whenever you have a problem deal with it in a different way, try talking to your friend or listening to music or something idk just whateverr keeps your mind away from it
When you are at the point where you feel as you have too, try thinking how your family would react If they knew or think how much you want to stop doing it
Hope it helps, and get well!

Try some other activitys, Theres only one of you, you know.

- Drawing pictures on how you feel
- listen to Hardcore music, Or music that gets the anger out of u
- take a shower, it helps relax
- Relaxe
- Sleep
- Cry

Might have depression

You need a hobby. Seriously. To take your mind off things that bother you and also for coping to frustrations.

Just stop doing it, that's the only answer.
