Could Bupropion cause this?!

Question: Could Bupropion cause this?
About a month after I started taking bupropion(for ADD) I started feeling "off". I became distant from my loved ones and mostly stayed in my room, I've become really lethargic and short. I feel like a completely different person and not in a good way. I feel depressed and pissy and I've been having really strange thoughts. Last night I started a petty fight with my boyfriend and it escalated into a huge argument, I have a really strong feeling this had something to do with the bupropion because I stopped taking it a couple of days ago and regret the fight but feel a lot better, most of the negative symptoms are gone. How do I explain this to him without sounding like I'm making excuses and I've heard I'd be a lot better off if I switch to Wellbutrin SR(i think that's what it's called), is this true?

Yes.

Bupropion has a Black Box Warning for suicidal thoughts. It is also likely the cause for your other symptoms as it is known to cause behavioral changes, agitation, hostility, and depression. Wellbutrin SR is bupropion, but it is the "sustained release" version, so no, this will not be a good switch for you. You need to contact your doctor and discuss your options. There are more effective ADD drugs out there.
