how do i deal with my sadness?!

Question: How do i deal with my sadness?
im going to get to the point and state that since i took this thanatology (study of death in films and books) i keep worrying that my family members are going to begin to die off. Im 17, my mother is 41 and my father is 46, and i keep fearing that one day im going to wake up and be 30, and my parents will be old and wont have much time left. i've been skeptical of god and afterlife lately and have just been searching for happyness. my mom is going in for an MRI tomorrow for her stomach and i keep worrying something incredibly horrible will come up. my parents have begun to become tired of me talking to them about it and become easily irritated. i dont have many friends, and no close ones, so i literately have no one to talk to. for the first time i spoke with my counselor and felt happyness for a short time, but soon later i feel back into this emptyness. I am obsessing about this for suucchhh a long time and it's like a virus in my head. anybody understanding how i feel? the non stop sadness?

i've also been having sleeping and eating problems. i have no interests in TV, Video Games, getting out of the house, ANYTHING!

Your studies of death might have started this. Death is final and it causes us to feel like we'll be abandoned. Your sadness might also have developed into a clinical depression. It sounds that way due to your lack of interest in the things you used to like to do. Please continue to talk to your counselor. Long term help is what you need right now. If you are hesitant about asking your parents to take you to a doctor, then ask your counselor to talk with them. You don't have to live like this.

Good luck

When you have a distorted perception of a situation related to "thanatology" you must realize that you are the one affected by this new knowledge you must take a step back, write down your perception and start peeling it off like an onion.

You feel depressed by the fact that your family is going to die.
Why does it depress you as you must recognize that this is a fact of life.
Why is 30 such a dreadful age,
keep on peeling and you will soon see the distortion with which you are looking at it.

Do some research on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, you'll discover a whole new way to look at things.

Good luck with your search.
