Should i tell someone about my substance abuse problem?!

Question: Should i tell someone about my substance abuse problem?
ok, no mean answers please. i really just want help and advice. i started drinking heavily last year, my freshman year at college, there were also pills at the parties. pills like oxycodone, xanax, vicodin, and adderal. it used to just be once in a while, but now i feel i cant go a day without something, even if its like 8 benadryl. i decided to stop on monday, and have been doing well, but today i felt so ill. should i tell someone, like someone at church. i just really dont know what to do. is this no big deal? i appreciate your advice.
thanks.

Answers:

Yes, you should. I speak from experience because it escalates before you know it. ESPECIALLY the pills..all the ones you mention cause withdrawal which is probably why you don't feel well. I started with a few hydrocodone now and then, they made me feel good and I had stopped drinking. This was over 10 years ago and not only am I still on them, my tolerance is so high my dosage daily is off the charts. I tell you this because by you asking the question you must be sincere in wanting to stop, so please, PLEASE talk with someone..at church, a counselor..look in the phone book..there are a lot of free options. And honey, it is a big F-cking deal. It will consume you like you cannot believe.
All the best to you!

what you are expreiencing is normal. there is no need to worry anyone about it, just go with the flow and allow yourself to expreiment. if you are feeling sick, take some more vicadon

You have gone into withdrawal, go to a doctor be honest and they will be able to advise you of what to do next.

Yes you should talk to someone u can trust. Better go to a doctor. They can help u through it step by step.

Just always remember that ur preparing for ur future in college not destroying it.

Best of luck!

don't tell anyone. just stop taking pills.
