Please help me :( its a lengthy read so please only answer if youll read itall?!

Question: Please help me :( its a lengthy read so please only answer if youll read itall?
So i need some input on this one...
there are many diffrent things going on but im unsure if there linked or maybe im just over thinking things..
I foget alot of things, and i dont just mean like appoitments and stuff, i mean like what day it is, where i am, what im ment to be doing etc,. I find it so hard to work cause i forget what i was doing ...
Im very paraoid and fidgity. Im constantly looking around me cause i feel i need to know who's around me and why... if im talking to someone on the phone im very carful with what i say because im worried someone else is with them and there trying to trick me into saying something i should'nt... and i dont mean sometimes i mean all the time even though there would be no need for them to do that... simple things like a guy hitting on me i think somehow he knows someone i do, and he is just trying to hurt me for some reason.
i have been told i have depression for years by diffrent docters but never take medication cause i dont want to as my family has a " very addictive personality"
Some days i feel on top of the world like im invincible and awesome, other days i would like nothing more than to be in a hole 6 feet under.
I spend enormous amounts of money on usless things and can't afford it. Im extreamly anxious, im 19 and hate partys and clubs cause i cant handle being aruond so many people. Even when im just with one person im chewing my lip or bitting my nails. I never gvie eye contact.. im not sure why but i just cant.
I went through alot of tramour in my life when i was younger..I usto cut my self on my legs and thighs, hips and chse so no one could see. I often think about death and suicide, not always wanting to commit it but sometimes just thinking of ways it could be done, the effects and relief of it.
Also my grandad and aunty have bipolor and my dad had schizophrenia, boarderline personality disorder and depression. My brother also has boarderline personality disorder, depression etc...

Is this anything or am i just over thinking things ?

You have a strong genetic predisposition to mental illness and need to be properly evaluated by a psychiatrist.
Both BiPolar and schizophrenia require medication. Has nothing to do with 'addictive' personality.
The brain chemistry is off, and the meds to regulate it are not addictive.
They are not narcotics or benzos.

You probably just have ADD and humanphobia. Dont worry about it just sing in your head to calm down "i like to eat eat eat apples and bananas" keep repeating it when you feel bad.

Ok so it is kind of long but i still read it all, I think that since you have be told that you have depression you may want to try some medications for it and specially since you are having suicidal thoughts even if your family is the "very addictive kind" it can really change your way of life and i don't believe that you would become addictive if you follow the doctor order and you are very concern about it then you should talk to you doctor about the effect meds would have on you and any other question you have you can also try counseling it can really help to talk to someone and see a specialist, and specially since it runs in the family. Hope this helps and hope you get to feeling better!

From what you have described, it sounds like you might be suffering from a variety of symptoms of mental health problems. Seeking help is a difficult thing to do, but you are already taking the initiative to do that which is great. Now that you have asked for help, the next step is to see a counselor. You can explain all of your symptoms like you have here and you can even voice your concerns about drug addiction. It may be that drugs for depression have a low likelihood of forming addictions. A counselor will have all of the answers to your questions and will provide you with the tools and support to manage your anxiety. The best place to find a counselor is through your GP. Alternatively, Lifeline has a database of services around Australia: http://www.lifeline.org.au/Find-Help/Lif… For a little background research, stories by other young people, and forums to discuss what you are going through, you can check out ReachOut.com. Here are some fact sheets about anxiety (http://au.reachout.com/find/articles/anx… and bipolar disorder (http://au.reachout.com/find/articles/bip… These fact sheets are very helpful and can give you information to manage your symptoms. If you need to talk to someone, you can call the Kids Helpline (1800 55 1800) or Lifeline (13 14 11), they are both free and anonymous. Keep seeking help because you are on the right track.
